“You don’t know what you don’t know.”  Never is that more true than in trying to figure out what we need, and where to go, when facing the challenges of aging or health care needs for the first time.  Often we don’t even know what questions to ask as we enter these new situations.

Issues of aging and changing health needs force the older adult, and family members who assist him or her, to embark on a journey of discovery.  Medical needs change and may intensify, sometimes very quickly.  Instead of worrying about saving wisely, we sometimes need to learn how to liquidate assets carefully to preserve savings and income while paying for care.  Often we must decide if staying in the current home is practical, what assistance could make it work well, or when it is time to explore other types of residences.  Legal planning is no longer about parents planning for the care of minor children, but about aging parents planning for their own care and well-being.  Life has changed and suddenly we find ourselves needing to know about subjects that are brand new to us.

E-Senior Services is here to help you discover what you need to know, to provide you with basic information on the topics important to you, and to help you locate the services and products you determine might be helpful in your caring situation.  We clear away some of the confusion and uncertainty and help you make sense of the aging journey.

How does E-Senior Services help you?

Our Caregiver Assistance  Program for Employers:

Employers can help their employees who are aging and/or caregivers by choosing from these flexible, inexpensive options:

  1. A series of E-Senior Services elder care workshops held at the employer’s locations, at times convenient for employer and employees;
  2. Employee access to recorded classes 24 hours/day; or
  3. A combination of the two programs described above designed to meet employee needs and availability.

Helping employees to successfully address the needs of the adults for whom they provide care, or their own care needs, makes valuable employees more reliable, focused and productive at work, which ultimately improves the employer’s bottom line.  It’s a win-win situation for employees and employers, especially in today’s tough economy.

To learn more about our corporate programs, please see our Employers tab at the top of our home page.

Our Caregiver Assistance Program for Individuals:

From the comfort of your own home or office, you can view recorded classes on a variety of basic aging/caregiving topics, offered in easy-to-understand, non-technical language.  Each class lasts for approximately 30 minutes.  Additional E-Senior Snippets are brief (2-5 minute) videos on specifric eldercare questions designed to give you good information in less time than it takes to finish your coffee.

On our web site, you can easily select and pay for the classes that meet your needs on a wide variety of elder care topics, including in-home care services, legal planning, facility care and paying for long-term care (see our Classes/Videos section for class descriptions).

From the Individuals tab on our home page, you can also access our concierge shopping and care management services.

Aging Issues Mediation (AIM)

Mediation has long been an accepted tool to resolve disagreements in contract disputes, auto accidents and divorce and custody situations.  Through our mediation service, AIM Mediation, we use mediation techniques to help resolve disagreements among family members regarding the care and well-being of an older loved one or between older adults and professional care providers.  We call this Aging Issues Mediation and it is a cost-effective way to help families reduce conflict and to avoid expensive litigation.

Aging issues mediation helps to:

  1. Resolve disputes amicably;
  2. Preserve family and professional relationships;
  3. Explore options to meet age, illness or disability-related challenges; and
  4. Maintain control of the outcomes, rather than waiting for a court to decide for you.

Verified Service Provider (VSP) Directory:

You may have already determined what types of services or products will meet your caregiving needs.  But how do you quickly find a reputable provider in your area?

E-Senior Services has created a Verified Service Provider Directory to help you find the services and products you need.  We are building  the directory slowly and choosing with care the providers we list.  Our listings give you licensing and other basic information on the products or services each provider offers, the languages spoken by staff, insurance carried, geographic areas served, etc.

Remember to keep checking back with us as the VSP Directory grows over the next few months.  We welcome your help in adding high-quality providers of services or products for seniors or family caregivers to our listings.  If you wish to recommend a business not currently in our VSP Directory, please send us an e-mail with the provider’s contact information and we will invite that business to apply.

The VSP Directory is free to all our web site users.  Please click on the VSP Directory from our home page.

Concierge Services:

Do you need help now and can’t wait until you finish taking our informative classes?  Do you know what you need but don’t have time to find the service or product yourself?  Do you want a friendly senior care professional to listen to your situation and make some immediate recommendations to get you started in the right direction?

E-Senior Services has two quick-response services to help you.
