Life always involves learning to walk, talk, ride a bike, drive, work and love.  All the major milestones in life involve a “learning curve”.  We never know everything we need to know as we begin to face each new challenge in life.

• When we accept that we may not be immortal and begin to plan for our futures, both financially and legally;
• When we experience difficulties with memory or clarity of thought;

• When we must plan for an impending death.

Each of these questions involves a learning curve for the aging individual and for the loved ones who want to help.  Just as in the rest of life, learning about the issues, exploring resources, trying a few things and gaining some experience, talking with friends and professionals who have already been through what we’re going through, all of these help us learn to meet each new challenge successfully.
